HYABINBUBIGreetings comrades! It's me again! I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! I've got a question concerning the PCV valve on the cat. Where is it? I checked the owner's manual and it mentions checking the PCV valve but it doesn't exactly tell me where it is. Now I'm in the middle of buying a shop manual from someone on EBAY but I don't think this should wait. By the way I took her in to the dealer for her 42K mile service about 2 weeks ago and mentioned the PCV valve to them but they told me that my cat has no PCV valve. Mind you these are the same jokers who told me that my baby has no lube points either. Is it me or does anyone else out there think I should find another dealer to take her to?
Hollywoodits located just to the right of the trottle body on the rear on the engine. to check it....

Diagnosis and testing of PCV System

1. With the engine idling, remove the hose from the pcv valve. If the valve is not plugged, a hissing noise will be heard as air passes through the valve. A strong vacuum should also be felt when a finger is placed over the valve inlet.

2. Install hose on PCV valve. Remove the make up air hose from the air plenum at the rear of the engine. Hold a piece of stiff paper (parts tag) loosely over the end of the make up air hose.

3. After allowing approximately one minute for the crankcase prssure to reduce, the paper shoould draw up against the hose with noticeable force. If the engine does not draw the paper against the gromnet after installing a new valve replace the pcv valve hose.

4. Turn off the engine. Remove the pcv valve frm intake manifold. The valve should rattle when shaken.

5. Replace the PCV valve and retest the system if is does not operate as described in the preceeding tests.
Do not attempt to clean the old PCV valve. If the valve rattles, apply a light coat of Loctite Pipe Sealent With Telfon to the threads. Thread the pcv valve into the manifold plenum and tighten to N.m (60 in. lbs.) torgue.

you might want to look for a new place to take your car.

....and God then said, "Well, we're outta brains. Hmm, let's give 'em some boobs."

butchceethere's a valve with a check ball on the rear of the intake manifold. I'm not sure about the original plumbing as it was removed before I became familiar with underhood stuff. It might have gone to the left bank crankcase vent. If there is a problem with this valve, I'm pretty sure a check engine light will come on. My Cat and manual are gone for a few days.
HollywoodHaha i beat you to it!
butchceeYou were more technical anyway
